The jaguar is an amazing animal. It can run very fast. It is an excellent swimmer, too. In fact, it is the most water loving of the cats. Jaguars can be found in Mexico, Central America, North America, and South America. However, it is extremely hard to see jaguars in the wild today. This is because they are endangered. So it is important to make efforts to increase their numbers.

Recently, the San Diego Zoo in California reported exciting news. A pair of healthy jaguar cubs were born at the zoo for the first time in 30 years! The zoo is very excited about the birth.
¡°Here at the San Diego Zoo, our female jaguar just gave birth to two cubs. We are very excited about this and we are ecstatic. We haven¡¯t had babies here in 30 years," said senior keeper Nicole Johnston.

The four-month-old cubs made their public debut last week. They don¡¯t have names yet. Many people are visiting the zoo to see the lovely animals. Soon, they will grow up to become strong beasts. In fact, jaguars are the largest cat in the Western Hemisphere.

Jaguars have beautiful fur. People have killed many jaguars for their fur. This is one of the reasons why they are endangered today. In addition, loss of habitat has reduced the populations of jaguars from North America through South America. Let¡¯s hope the newborn jaguar cubs will help increase their population!
