snows a lot in the winter. It is a lot of fun to play in the snow.
Many children enjoy snowball fights with their
friends when it snows. Then, do animals enjoy snowball fights, too?
surprisingly, a photographer captured a squirrel making a snowball!
Last week, a British photographer named Simon Phillpotts visited Yorkshire
Dales in England to take some pictures of squirrels. He spent several hours taking their pictures.
“
These squirrels are really bold. They don’t seem to have a fear of humans so they came
quite close,” he said. “They are so fascinating that I could
watch them for hours. The other day, I spent so
long with them and I was in danger of getting frostbite on my toes. But I was very excited to see the squirrel
making a snowball!”
According to Phillpotts, squirrels grow a thick coat in the winter. This
allows them to be just as
active as they would be any other time of the year. He said it was
hard to take their pictures because they were running around so quickly. You should stay active like the squirrels
even when the weather is very cold. Don’t you want to have a snowball
fight with the squirrels? |
