Most people don¡¯t like spiders. But they are one of the most common creatures we see in our daily lives. In fact, there are many myths about them. But how much do you really know about them? If you want to learn some fun facts about spiders, please keep reading!

Unlike humans, spiders do not have a nose or ears. But they can sense the sound of a flying insect. How? Their body is covered with tiny hairs. These hairs are able to sense vibrations, touch, and sounds! Amazingly, the hairs can sense the tiny footsteps of an insect coming closer.

Most spiders are small, but some are as big as a dinner plate! It is hard to believe, but some spiders are as big as 28 centimeters wide. For example, the Goliath Bird-eater Tarantula from South America is known to be 28 to 30 centimeters wide. Despite its huge size, the spider is not dangerous to humans.

Most spiders will live only for a year or two. But some spiders can live for 30 years! Many spiders lay only a few eggs, but some spiders can lay up to 2,000 eggs! The spider silk found in spider webs is the strongest of any natural fiber. It is actually stronger than steel wire of the same thickness!
