The name of the world¡¯s happiest man is Matthieu Ricard. He was born
in France in 1946. Now he lives in Nepal as a Buddhist monk! He is the
French interpreter for the Dalai
Lama, Tibet¡¯s spiritual leader.

he was a volunteer subject in a study performed at the University
of Wisconsin?Madison¡¯s on happiness. MRI scans showed that he experienced a huge level
of ¡°positive emotions.¡± The scans also
showed that his negative thoughts are suppressed.
His secret to happiness is meditation. He says that
brain training in the form of meditation can cause
an overwhelming change in levels
of happiness.
¡°Our life
can be greatly transformed by even
a minimal change in how we
manage our thoughts, and perceive and interpret the world,¡± he
said.
According to him, happiness is a skill to be learned. ¡°Happiness is
a skill. It requires effort and time.
