November
6 was a historical day for the U.S.
It elected its new president on that day. So, who is going to lead the country for the
next four years? It¡¯s Barack Obama! He managed to defeat Mitt Romney
to win his second term as the president of
the U.S.
Last week, the eyes of the world were all focused on the results of
the American presidential election. As
many have guessed, President Obama won a second White House term last Tuesday
night. The president¡¯s victory came shortly after he was declared
the winner in the crucial battleground for Ohio.
After his opponent admitted his defeat, Obama
congratulated Romney on his hard-fought campaign. ¡°I
have just called President Obama to congratulate him on his victory,¡±
said Romney. ¡°I would pray that the president will be successful in guiding our
nation.¡±
¡°Thank
you so much. I want to thank every American who participated in this
election. Whether you voted for the very first
time or waited in line for a very long time, whether
you held an Obama sign or a Romney sign, you made your voice heard
and you made a difference,¡± said Obama during his victory speech in Chicago early last
Wednesday morning.
¡°Our road has been hard and our journey has been long, but
we have picked ourselves up. We have fought our way back. And we know
in our hearts that for the United States of America, the best is yet
to come. We¡¯ve got more work to do,¡± he added.
Obama thanked
campaign workers and voters as well as praising the nation¡¯s teachers,
soldiers, and workers. He
promised not to waste the opportunity given
to him to continue his work for a second
term.
Now, he will have to deal with various issues to make his
country a better place for his people. He said he will try his best
to improve the economy, increase jobs and solve border security issues over the
next four years. Congratulations and please keep working hard for
your country and the world, Mr. Obama! |
