Have you seen a beaver? It is an interesting animal. It has a thick tail that looks like a paddle. It is used as a rudder.
The beaver has big front teeth that never stop growing. Beavers keep their teeth from getting too long by chewing and gnawing on trees. Then, what do beavers eat?

Beavers are found all over America, except in really hot and really cold places. They are excellent swimmers. They live in streams and lakes, where there are many trees. Beavers are good at building dams. They build dams to create a safe and comfortable habitat for themselves.

Beavers have dark brown hair. They weigh about 10-30 kilograms and are 60-90 centimeters long, excluding their tails.
Interestingly, a really big beaver could weigh almost as much as a child! Beavers are active at night. They mostly sleep during the day.

Then, what do beavers eat? They only eat plants. Beavers like to eat a few different kinds of trees, including poplar, maple, and willow. Beavers eat bark and small twigs, too. Sometimes they store small logs underwater near their homes to eat later.
