Korean singer / rapper Psy is now an international celebrity. He came into the spotlight with his song, ¡°Gangnam Style.¡± The music video received the most clicks on YouTube. People all over the world fell in love with the hilarious music video. The horse-riding dance moves also created a sensation all around the globe. Recently, he was even nominated as one of the candidates for Time¡¯s Person of the Year 2012!

The year 2012 must have been a special year for Psy. He gained world-wide recognition thanks to the popularity of the song ¡°Gangnam Style.¡± It gained instant popularity on the Internet and people all over the world are still enjoying his music.

His music video broke all kinds of records this year, marking more than 820 million YouTube views! Surprisingly, it took only about three months for Psy to achieve the feat. It took 4 years for Justin Bieber¡¯s ¡°Baby¡± to get 800 million views on YouTube.

¡°Gangnam Style¡± also ranked the second on Billboard chart for the first time as a Korean song. Although he couldn¡¯t reach the top spot on the music chart, the song stayed in the second spot for a few weeks.

Thanks to the global popularity of the song, Psy managed to go where no Korean artist had gone before. He performed with many world-famous singers including Madonna and MC Hammer. He also visited many countries all around the world to perform the horse-riding dance for his global fans.

The horse-riding dance gained tremendous popularity in many countries. From little children to grandmas and grandpas, the dance brought everyone together. Some brides and grooms even performed the horse-riding dance at their wedding ceremonies!

In recognition of his global fame, Psy is now a candidate for the U.S. weekly news magazine TIME¡¯s ¡°Person of the Year 2012!¡± He is on the list of 38 candidates along with U.S. President Barack Obama, late former North Korean leader Kim Jong-il, and the new leader of China¡¯s ruling Communist Party Xi Jinping.
