What did you dream about last night? Can you remember your dreams? Dreaming is one of the most mysterious and interesting experiences in our lives. During the Roman Era, dreams were thought to be messages from the gods. In fact, many artists have received their creative ideas from their dreams. Let¡¯s learn some interesting facts about dreams.

Everyone dreams at night. Even blind people dream, too. People who became blind after birth can see images in their dreams. People who are born blind do not see any images. But they can dream vividly, using their other senses of sound, smell, touch, and emotion.

You may think you don¡¯t dream very often. But this is not true. On average, you dream about one or two hours every night. But you may not remember your dreams. As a matter of fact, you forgot 90 percent of your dreams. Half of your dream is forgotten within 5 minutes of waking. Within 10 minutes, 90 percent is gone!

What color is your dream? Not everyone dreams in color. According to studies, some people dream in black and white. But most people dream in full color. You can have 4 to 7 dreams in one night. Anxiety is the most common emotion experienced in dreams. Negative emotions are more common than positive ones.

Men and women dream differently. Studies showed that men tend to dream more about other men. About 70 percent of the characters in a man¡¯s dream are other men. On the other hand, a woman¡¯s dream contains almost an equal number of men and women.

You only see faces that you already know in your dreams. You see real faces of real people that you have seen during your life in your dreams. But you may not know or remember their faces. This is because you get to see hundreds of thousands of faces throughout your life!

Then, can animals dream, too? Yes, they can! So far, studies have been done on many different animals. Interestingly, animals show brain waves just like humans when they are dreaming. If your pet dog moves its paws while sleeping, it is running in its dream!
