Can
you play any musical instruments? Playing music can make your life
happier. Learning to play music is good for your brain and mind! Recently, three Kids
Reporters visited a music institute for children to
learn various instruments. They
learned the joys of playing music by trying many different instruments.
On July 12, Kids Reporters Kwon Hyuck-jun, Kwon Bo-sung, and Ko Seong-tae
paid a visit to Dalgona Music Institute (www.dalgonamusic.com) in
Seocho-gu, Seoul. They learned of many different musical instruments,
such as the flute, violin, and trumpet, from professional musicians.
They
even learned how to play the ukulele, a traditional Hawaiian instrument. It looks
similar to the guitar, but
it is much smaller. The ukulele originated in the 19th century
in Hawaii. The small guitar-like instrument gained great popularity
in the U.S. during the early 20th century. Today, many people all
over the world play the ukulele. Ukuleles commonly come in four sizes:
soprano, concert, tenor, and baritone.
¡°I like the sound of the ukulele. The name of this instrument is also
interesting,¡± said Seong-tae, who learned to played the ukulele. ¡°It
is much smaller than the guitar, and it is easier to learn than the
guitar.¡±
The other two children learned how to play the violin and flute. However, it was not
easy to learn the flute. It was hard for Hyuck-jun to make a proper sound at first. However,
he still said he wanted to learn how to play the flute.
There are
many different musical instruments you can learn, from the piano to
the ukulele. Why don¡¯t you learn how to play a new instrument? You
may not enjoy playing the piano, but you may end up enjoying playing
the guitar. Try many instruments and find the best one for you.
Playing an instrument can help your brain¡¯s development. It also helps
calm you down. Most importantly, you can
enjoy your life more and lead a happier life if you
play musical instruments. Music is good for your brain, mind, and
soul! |
