Last
week, Singapore set a new world record by
making the world¡¯s biggest cupcake mosaic. The hugedisplay was made to celebrate the country¡¯s 47th
birthday. A total of 20,000 cupcakes
were used for the display! The previous record was made
with 5,900 cupcakes in the U.S. in 2009.
It took the Singaporeans 600 kilograms of cupcake mix, 350 kilograms
of eggs and 300 kilograms of vegetable oil to produce the cupcakes. it
took more than 18 hours to bake the cupcakes!
The record-breaking mosaic was
put together by 1,200 young volunteers at the Singapore
Expo under the slogan ¡°Bake, Care, and Share.¡± All of the cupcakes
have been sent to less fortunate children,
the disabled and the elderly in Singapore.
Delivering the cupcakes was
also the volunteers¡¯ work.
They used 50 cars to deliver the cupcakes throughout Singapore within
three hours to make sure they arrived fresh at their destinations. It was a great
chance for young Singaporeans to learn the meaning of sharing and how
to make a difference in the
lives of others!
