must be very sad to be separated with your family members. The same
goes for animals! You may think animals don’t recognize their long-lost
family members. But it is not true! Last week, a silverback gorilla
named Alf met his long-lost brother Kesho.
The gorilla brothers were
born at Dublin Zoo. But they were separated when Kesho was sent to
London Zoo to take part in a breeding program. Kesho spent three years
in London. But last week, he came back to meet his brother again.
Zoo keepers weren’t really sure that the brothers would even know
each other.
 But surprisingly, the moment they met, they recognized
each other right away. The two brothers shared the joy of reuniting
by giving each other a hug like humans! They even slapped each other’s
backs and shook hands! It is quite unusual to see that sort of human-like
behavior in silverback gorillas.
Now they are living together at a
safari park in Wiltshire. Alf is 17 years old and his brother is four
years younger than him. Live happily ever after together, gorilla
brothers! |
