 Are
you a big fan of Disney’s characters? Out of all of them, which character
do you think is the most beloved one? As you can already
guess, it is Mickey Mouse. This cartoon character is loved by not
only children, but also grown-ups all over the world.
Disney’s Characters - including this cute little mouse - were all
created by Walt Disney of course. How on earth could he come up
with this unique and exceptional character? Let’s
find out!
Walt Disney was born in 1901 in Chicago, Illinois. He was interested
in drawing cartoons since childhood. After he was discharged from
the military, he decided to become a cartoonist. Unfortunately, it
was not as easy as he thought it would be. Every time he sent his
drawings to a newspaper, they were all rejected.
 Meanwhile, he saw a poster
on the street. It read, “We are looking for cartoonists who are capable
of leading the 20th century! Challenge us, if you dare!” He decided
to go for it. It’s because he needed money to make a living. He desperately wanted to win
the competition. He thought, “I want to create cartoon characters
nobody has ever thought of.”
While trying to come up with ideas, something startled him with a
rustling sound. He lifted his head, and saw it was a mouse in a hole.
At that moment, he instantly caught the mouse
because a brilliant idea came to his
mind.
For several days, he observed the mouse. “I will
make this animal, which people feel disgusted by, the most-loved
one in the world!” Then, he began to draw a new cartoon character.
It was a smiling mouse in a child-like outfit. The mouse looked
very cute, just like an innocent child. At first,
the mouse had no name. Later, the mouse turned into the world’s most-loved
mouse, called “Mickey Mouse”! |
