What is the fastest animal in the world? Yes, it is the cheetah! It is famous for its fast running speed. Many studies have confirmed the cheetah is the fastest land animal in the world. How fast can the cheetah run?

Don¡¯t be surprised. The cheetah can run at a speed of about 30 meters per second! And it can reach a running speed of up to about 100 kilometers per hour, which is faster than most super cars! Isn¡¯t it incredible? However, the cheetah is strong in only short distances. It cannot run at full speed for long distances.

The cheetah is also a good jumper. To our surprise, it can leap up to 10 meters distance and 4.5 meters high in a single jump! That is about five times the length of its body. According to scientists, this is because of its huge leg muscles.

Interestingly, there are reasons why the cheetah can run fast like this. First of all, its body is very light and it has a large heart and lungs. Also, it has very big eyes to see far ahead while running. Together with its spine, its slim legs are incredibly flexible. A long tail helps the cheetah to keep its balance, too. It seems like the cheetah is built for speed!
