The
world¡¯s most reputable fashion brand ¡°Chanel¡±!
Women all over the world just love it. However, despite its popularity,
it is also known as a luxury brand due to its high
price. We should think again. The efforts of Gabrielle ¡°Coco¡±
Chanel, the founder of Chanel, to make the world¡¯s best fashion brand
is worth more than that.
Gabrielle Chanel was born in 1883 in France. She was born into a very
poor family, so the members of her family had to live apart. Chanel
lived in a convent with her aunt who
was the same age.
But she soon left there because she couldn¡¯t stand the strict lifestyle. Afterwards,
she worked at a clothing boutique. Her job was selling and repairing clothes. She was
very talented in sewing.
Meanwhile, Gabrielle Chanel made a hat on her own. It was because
hats at the time were heavy and had too much decoration on them. She got
rid of all of the decoration and put only a ribbon on it.
Her hat became sensationally popular among
noblewomen. Moreover, the women went back to Chanel to make more hats.
Chanel was also happy with the job. Finally, she decided to open a
clothing store.
Chanel always tried to make clothes that women could wear with comfort but still look unique.
She worked day and night to make clothes she dreamt of. Meanwhile,
in 1920, she surprised the world by marketing a short skirt that ended
almost at the knee. It was so preposterous that people
were reluctant to wear it at first. But, it soon spread throughout
the world. Women fell in love with the skirt
because it was very comfortable to wear.
Also, she
made a skirt that had pockets on it for the first time, and also a
bag which is today called a ¡°handbag.¡± Coco Chanel¡¯s entire collection
was innovative and was loved
all over the world.
The world recognized her as a queen of fashion, and the reputation
still remains solid, years after her death.
There is no doubt that she was the pioneer of the women¡¯s fashion
industry. |
