We have to talk with others every day. Sometimes we have to speak in front of many people. Public speaking is not easy. But don¡¯t you want to become a powerful, influential, and impressive speaker? The good news is, you can learn how to become a great speaker! Here are some useful tips on becoming a great speaker.

In order to become a good speaker, you need to organize your thoughts. You should have a point and stick to it. If there are several ideas or details related to your main point, speak about each one in a deliberate fashion. Then, summarize what you¡¯ve said at the conclusion.

Your attitude is very important, too. Be polite and respect your audience. Put a smile on your face and speak clearly. Don¡¯t put your hands in your pocket. Try to use your hands properly and naturally when speaking. Eye contact is also very important when you speak. Do not look at the ceiling or floor. Instead, make eye contact with people in front of you.

Want to be an interesting speaker? You don¡¯t want to be a dry, dull, and boring speaker, do you? Then, do not use one tone through the entire speech. It makes you a much better speaker when you raise your voice a bit here and there. Great speakers¡¯ tones go up and down.

What if you stutter? Don¡¯t worry. Stuttering is normal and most people do it. When we are very nervous, we tend to murmur or stutter. If it happens to you, take a deep breath and try to relax. Then, go with the flow. Or just stop for a second and keep going.

Watching videos of great speakers can be helpful, too. There are many great speakers in the world. For example, Martin Luther King, John F. Kennedy, Steve Jobs, and Barack Obama are known as wonderful speakers. Watch their videos and learn from them. Then, practice until you are confident!
