The average roll of toilet paper weighs 227 grams, including the cardboard core tube. According to various studies, the average person spends three years on the toilet over the course of a lifetime! On average, people use a total of 57 sheets per day. That¡¯s an annual total of 20,805 sheets!

Then, how many days does the standard roll of toilet paper last in a household bathroom? According to a survey, in an average household, the average roll of toilet paper lasts about five days. People use approximately 8 to 9 sheets of paper per toilet use.

We can find toilet paper very easily in Korea. But about four billion people in the world don¡¯t use toilet paper. People in some parts of the world do not use toilet paper due to a lack of trees. Some people don¡¯t use toilet paper because they don¡¯t have enough money to buy it.

Two-ply toilet paper consists of two layers of 10 thickness paper, while one ply is made of a 13 thickness paper. So, two-ply is not necessarily twice the thickness. When comparing one-ply and two-ply, on average one-ply toilet paper lasts twice as long.

A single tree can produce about 810 rolls of toilet paper. It takes about 384 trees to make the toilet paper that one person uses within his or her lifetime. The average person uses 100 rolls of toilet paper per year. We should use toilet paper wisely to save trees!
