You might have seen parrots speaking short sentences like babies do. People love them and they believe that parrots are the only birds that are able to say many human words. Is it true? And how can they speak well like that?

In fact, other species of bird such as magpies and woodpeckers can speak, too. However, parrots are considered to be able to speak the best. What makes them so special? The difference between parrots and other species of bird is that parrots have thicker and more complexly structured tongues. That is why parrots can speak better than other birds.

Did you know that parrots only mimic the sounds of the owner who raises them? They like to learn from their owners like children learn things from their parents. Actually, they are just like babies. Surprisingly, many studies have shown that they are as smart as a three-year-old child. They are curious about everything around them. They also like to learn new things.

Considering all these characteristics of parrots, there seem to be enough reasons for them to speak well!
