great story of a man who will teach you what you can do to actually
achieve your dream.
Paul Potts, a British man born in 1970, was very talented at singing
since he was little. However, he was very poor and not good-looking. He was always
bullied by other children in school. It seemed like nobody really
liked him. However, he had a dream. He liked singing very much and
he wanted to become a great singer someday.
When he grew up, he auditioned several times for singing roles. Unfortunately,
he was always rejected because of his appearance. Meanwhile, he
happened to meet his idol Luciano Pavarotti. Potts
sang before him. Pavarotti highly praised him for his singing.
He even asked for an encore. Potts was very encouraged and became very
confident in his abilities thanks to Pavarotti. He realized that he
is a great singer and a good person just as he is.
 Afterwards,
he auditioned for a famous talent
contest program on television to fulfill his lifelong dream.
He was an ordinary man who was working
as a cell phone salesperson then. When he
showed up on stage to sing, he was just seen as a fat, unattractive man. However,
when he started singing, everyone became speechless. Some of them
had tears in their eyes during the song. The program judges also gave a standing ovation,
even though his performance was not finished yet. His voice was beautiful
and had such a power to touch people.
Right after the show, video footage of him singing
on television instantly spread out all over the world
through YouTube. The video clip gained as many as 10 million viewers!
He rose to stardom overnight. His life was completely
different after the audition. Now he is a world’s famous singer who
travels all over the world since that moment.
Paul Potts was very happy that his lifelong dream came true. Above all, he was very glad
that he showed the world anyone can make their dream come true when
they believe in themselves. |
