round-the-world trip is what many people dream of doing. However,
what if you are asked to do it without using any mechanically powered vehicles
such as an airplane or a motor car? Would you dare to do it? There
is one man who said “yes” to this challenge. Let me introduce
an amazing British explorer.
Jason Lewis was born in 1967 in England. When Jason Lewis was in his
20s, his best friend Stevie Smith asked him, “Jason, why don’t we
travel around the world? But let’s do it all by ourselves without
any technology or machine. What do you think?”
 Since
Jason was such an adventurous person, he gladly
accepted the suggestion.
“Great! Let’s go for it!” They kicked off their trip on bicycles.
Ironically, they had never
even taken a bike trip or a boat trip in their lives. For this reason,
their trip was full of mistakes and unexpected accidents. They got
lost just five minutes after they started their trip. Moreover, they could have
been arrested by the police because
they rode their bikes illegally on motorways.
To make things worse, Jason’s legs were severely injured in a hit-and-run car accident
while they were walking across America. “I can’t give up. I will complete
this trip no matter what!” Jason was very determined.
 While continuing
the trip under very difficult circumstances, his friend
decided to go back to his country. It was 5 years into their trip.
However, “give up” is not in Jason’s dictionary. Even though he was
attacked by an alligator and constantly suffered accidents
which risked his life, he never stopped. He crossed the five continents and the two oceans.
After 13 years, he finally succeeded in making a round?the-world trip.
It was an incredible feat that shows the world that nothing is impossible.
