This
winter is very cold. A number of people even lost their lives due
to the severe cold. In fact, many
people are having a hard time getting through this tough
season. Why don¡¯t you lend a helping hand and assist our less fortunate
neighbors?
You may think you can¡¯t really help others because you don¡¯t have
much money. Of course you would be able to help many people if you
had a lot of money. But the truth is, you don¡¯t have to be a millionaire to make a difference.
Here¡¯s an inspiring story. Recently,
a 51-year-old lawyer from Los Angeles proved that helping others
is not that difficult. Tony Tolbert lent a homeless family his house
for a full year!
This was because he was inspired by his father¡¯s offerings of generosity when he was younger.
His father often let strangers with no place to go stay in their house.
Years later, Tolbert decided to do the same.
Last week, Tolbert moved to his parents¡¯ house so that he could loan his home to a family
in need for free. ¡°You don¡¯t have to be a Bill Gates or a Warren Buffett
to help others,¡± he said. ¡°We can do it wherever we are, with whatever
we have. As for me, I have a home
that I can let a homeless family live in for a year.¡±
You can donate many things other than money to help less fortunate
people. For example, if you have winter clothes that are now too small
for you, send them to a charity. Your clothes will
keep other children warm and happy during the cold winter days.
According to Tolbert, kindness creates kindness, generosity creates
generosity, and love creates love. If we can share some of what we
have, you can make the world a better place to live for everyone!
So, are you ready to share your love with those less fortunate than
you? |
