What do you think the world¡¯s biggest animal is? It is the blue whale! Blue whales are estimated as the biggest creature ever to have lived on Earth. Scientists say that they are even bigger than the biggest ancient dinosaurs!

It might be hard to imagine how big a blue whale is. How big? Don¡¯t be surprised. An average blue whale can grow up to 25 m long and weighs 160 tons (160,000 kg)!
How long and heavy! The largest whale ever measured was a female weighing 171 tons and over 27 m long! Interestingly, the heart of a blue whale is the size of a car. Their blood vessels are so large that you could swim in them!

What does a big blue whale eat? They feed on a huge amount of shrimps and crabs. And they are found throughout the world¡¯s oceans. However, they are listed as endangered animals because people have hunted them thoughtlessly until recently. Let¡¯s protect our big friends, everyone!
