At one time or another everyone suffers from a headache. There are many factors that cause headaches. Physical, emotional stress, lack of sleep, and even weather conditions trigger head pain! Let¡¯s learn about the causes of headaches and how to treat the unpleasant condition!

Sometimes bad posture can cause headaches. Poor posture causes tension in your upper back, neck and shoulders. The tension can lead to a headache. So, in order to avoid the unwanted head pain, avoid sitting or standing in one position for a long period. Sit up straight and support your lower back.

When you are angry, you may also feel the ailings of a headache. This is because muscles in the back of your neck and scalp tense up. So, when you start feeling angry, try to breathe deeply and slowly. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. This will help relax your head and neck muscles.

Did you know that bad weather can also trigger headaches? Yes, interestingly, high humidity, rising temperatures, and storms can bring on head pain. Weather changes are thought to trigger chemical and electrical changes in the brain, irritating nerves, leading to a headache. Sadly, there¡¯s not much you can do to change the weather. But at least you can, at least, prepare painkillers in advance after checking the weather forecast.

Strong scents can cause headaches, too. Perfumes, air fresheners, and household cleaners can bring on headaches. Avoid using strong-smelling soaps, shampoos, and conditioners. Use fragrance-free air fresheners and household cleaners. It is also a good idea to keep your doors and windows open as frequently as possible at home.

Grinding your teeth at night can cause head pain as well. This is because it makes your jaw muscles contract. Go to your dentist if you have this problem. Eating ice cream can give you a headache, too. It is called an ice cream headache but these headaches don¡¯t really need treatment because they don¡¯t last very long. They will go away soon.
