Can
animals return home from far away by themselves?
It was proved that some migratory animals such as
birds, turtles, and insects can usually find a way. Dogs may also
be able to find their way with the magnetic field.
Sadly, many animal experts say in chorus that
it is not possible for cats. However,
recently a cat named Holly has returned home after 62 days!
Last November, the cat was separated from its owners, Jacob and Bonnie
Richter in Daytona Beach, Florida. To our surprise, it appeared on a backyard about a mile from
the Richters¡¯ house in West Palm Beach on New Year¡¯s Eve. How did
the cat find her way back home from 200 miles (321 km) away?
Animal behaviorists and scientists
are still confused about how Holly managed to find her way back
home. What do you think made it possible? |
