The
household cartoon character,
Hello Kitty, isn't just a toy for children. Recently,
a YouTube video gained huge popularity around
the world. Don¡¯t be surprised! A 13-year-old middle school student
sent her longtime friend, Hello Kitty
doll into space! Couldn't you make out what I was saying? In other words, Lauren Rojas
from Antioch, California uploaded the video that included how to make the
spacecraft and send the doll
flying into the sky. What's it all about?
She was given
a science project about the effects of altitude on air pressure
and temperature. At first, she
decided to bind her favorite Hello Kitty doll onto a spacecraft. Lauren
and her father bought an observation balloon and started
constructing it. Finally, after two weeks,
they launched the special rocket into space. What was the result of the test? Although
the balloon fell into a faraway tree 75 km from the
launch point, it flew at
an altitude of 29 km and succeeded in reaching the stratosphere.
Last week, Lauren who presented in front of her classmates
said, ¡°I¡¯m always very interested in experiments. What¡¯s more
exciting about it is I completed my homework with my father.
I won¡¯t forget today.¡± |
