Untitled Document
Look at the picture. Rabbits are small and cute! Many people like these lovely animal. At the same time, people are always curious about their ears. It is because rabbits have very long and large ears relative to their body size. Why are their ears long and big?

Rabbits do not sweat. That means they must give off heat in other ways. One of the ways is to use their ears. They reduce the heat through ears when their body temperature goes up. If you look at rabbits¡¯ ears closely, you can see many blood vessels in their ears. They send warm blood to their blood vessels in their ears and make their ears stand up to cool down.

In addition, rabbits are at the very bottom of the food chain. They should be always very careful to avoid their predators. As a result, they have evolved long and large ears to hear as much sound as possible. Their big ears also help them gather even small sounds.
