Let¡¯s Save the Dolphins!    [27-09-2013]
Untitled Document
Dolphins are our friends. Some of their species are highly intelligent and have an ability to communicate with others. Also, they are not afraid of humans. They are very friendly and playful animals.

Unfortunately, however, each year a great number of our friends are slaughtered in Taiji, Japan. Fishermen inhumanly kill the dolphins for their own benefit. Shockingly, they eat and sell dolphin meat. They also sell at high prices young and healthy dolphins to zoos all over the world for dolphin shows.

Since several years ago when Japan¡¯s slaughter became known throughout the world, many animal protection groups and international community have criticized Japan¡¯s cruelty. At the same time, they have urged Japan to stop the dolphin hunting.

However, on September 1, fishermen in Taiji resumed slaughtering dolphins despite fierce criticism from all over the world. Even the Japanese government says dolphin hunting is part of their culture.

Some species of dolphins are now endangered. They and every animal on earth need to be protected. We shouldn¡¯t let our precious dolphins be killed. Can you think of ways to save our friends, the dolphins?
