There once was a boy standing in front of a gate of yellow-lighted factory. The boy was drawing something in his notebook. ¡°You came again! Do you really want to see airplanes that much?¡± his father asked, when he saw his son hunkering down in the corner.

¡°Yes, can I see them, please?¡± the boy replied.

His father finally let the boy enter the factory and look at the airplanes. ¡°What if there was a bicycle-sized airplane?¡± the boy wondered. He liked looking at airplanes. By viewing them, he could stretch his imagination.

This creative boy became the future master of the animation. He is Hayao Miyazaki (1941~). Since Miyazaki began his career in 1961, he has made a lot of creative and inspiring animation movies, such as My Neighbor TotoroÀÌ¿ôÁýÅäÅä·Î and Howl¡¯s Moving CastleÇÏ¿ïÀÇ¿òÁ÷À̴¼º.

¡°I want my movies to be seen by children as being beautiful. Through my movies, I would like to tell children they are lucky to be born in this world,¡± Miyazaki once stated.
As he desired, his movies always brought happiness to many people. They reminded adults of their childhood memories, and made children feel like they are the heroes in his films. In addition, his movies always told that the nature is our good neighbor and we should protect it.

Miyazaki recently announced his retirement from animation. Even though we are unable to see his newest movies anymore, his movies¡¯ heart-warming messages will last forever!
