There is a beautiful bird in the picture. How colorful! Do you know
what bird it is? This bird is a unique species of bird called the
Rainbow Lorikeet.
The Rainbow Lorikeet is an Australian bird. It is a member of the
parrot family. It usually lives in Australian rainforests. On average,
it is 30 cm long and weighs about 130 g. And its life span is about
20 years. It eats flowers, pollen, nectar, seeds, insects, and some
fruit.
 The most
interesting feature is its body colors. It has brightly-colored red,
green, blue, yellow, and orange feathers. It looks like a rainbow
with a blue head and belly; green wings, tail and back; and an orange
and yellow breast. Isn’t it beautiful?
The Rainbow Lorikeet is very rare. If you want to see this bird, you
have to go to Australia. Don’t you want to visit Australia to see
this beautiful bird someday? |
