There
goes the phone! A day will soon come when you know that your phone
is ringing without a sound or a vibration. What am I talking
about? Recently, an innovative product was developed.
This new smartphone, which was created by Queen¡¯s University Human
Media Lab in Canada, can bend and twist when it receives
a text or call!
In other words, the new model
smartphone named the MorePhone has shape-changing capabilities to let the user
know of an incoming call, text or email. It uses a thin, flexible display made
by a company called Plastic Logic. It is possible to curl its entire body to indicate a call, or fold
out to individual corners to indicate a particular message.
¡°We will be
able to leave our smartphone on the table and observe visual shape changes when
someone is trying to contact us,¡± says Dr. Ver tegaal of Queen¡¯s University.
However, the flexible smartphone display has a long way to go, considering
that the product will be available to the public within
the next five to 10 years. |
