There may be no one who is not crazy about the books by French writer Bernard Werber(1961-). Since his first book, Les Foumis °³¹Ì, was published in 1991, he has been beloved by people all over the world. Bernard Werber is also famous for his irreplaceable ideas and creative stories. What made him to be such an influential writer?

When Bernard was little, he went on a school field trip to the aquarium. Fourteen-year-old Bernard asked his friend, ¡°What do you think we could see if we were outside of the Earth?¡± ¡°Why do you want to know that useless stuff?¡± his friend replied with a sigh. ¡°But I really would like to find the answer to that question,¡± Bernard replied with a smile.

Bernard¡¯s friends considered him weird, because they thought Bernard always thought of absurd things. Regardless of the teasing from his friends, Bernard kept up at his efforts to find the answers to his questions.

¡°I think I should make notes of these questions, just in case I forget them,¡± Bernard thought. He thoroughly wrote down every thought he imagined in his notebook.

¡°When will you stop your daydreaming, Bernard?¡± his teacher scolded Bernard. The teacher was very disappointed when he saw Bernard¡¯s notebook. However, Bernard never stopped noting his thoughts. He continuously noted his thoughts in notebooks from the age of 14.

When he grew up, he started to write a story based on his notes. This is how the bestselling book, Les Foumis, was born. Beside the book, he wrote many other great books based on his notes. His books, which are full of brilliant ideas and imagination, immediately mesmerized people all around the world. People started to call Bernard a ¡°genius writer.¡± All of his books were translated into 35 different languages, and have sold a total of 15 million copies worldwide.
