There
may be no one who is not crazy about the books by French writer Bernard
Werber(1961-). Since his first book, Les Foumis °³¹Ì, was published
in 1991, he has been beloved by people all over the world. Bernard
Werber is also famous for his irreplaceable ideas and creative stories.
What made him to be such an influential writer?
When Bernard was little, he went on a school field trip to the aquarium.
Fourteen-year-old Bernard asked his friend, ¡°What do you think we
could see if we were outside of the Earth?¡± ¡°Why do you want to know
that useless stuff?¡± his friend replied with a sigh. ¡°But I really
would like to find the answer to that question,¡± Bernard replied with
a smile.
Bernard¡¯s friends considered him weird, because they thought Bernard
always thought of absurd things. Regardless of the teasing from his
friends, Bernard kept up at his efforts to find the answers to his
questions.
¡°I think I should make notes of these questions, just in case I forget
them,¡± Bernard thought. He thoroughly wrote down every thought he
imagined in his notebook.
¡°When will
you stop your daydreaming, Bernard?¡± his teacher scolded Bernard.
The teacher was very disappointed when he saw Bernard¡¯s notebook.
However, Bernard never stopped noting his thoughts. He continuously
noted his thoughts in notebooks from the age of 14.
When he grew up, he started to write a story based on his notes. This
is how the bestselling book, Les Foumis, was born. Beside the book,
he wrote many other great books based on his notes. His books, which
are full of brilliant ideas and imagination, immediately mesmerized
people all around the world. People started to call Bernard a ¡°genius
writer.¡± All of his books were translated into 35 different languages,
and have sold a total of 15 million copies worldwide. |
