Here is a surprising and heartbreaking story! NBC Chicago, a U.S. television broadcaster, unveiled an unbelievable story about a 44-year-old man from Geneva, Illinois who won $4.85 million (about W5.4 billion) in the lottery. That sounds like good news. What is the heartbreaking part?

Not long ago, the man, named Ricardo Cerezo, lost his loving daughter. Her name was Savannah and she had suffered from severe bipolar disorderÁßÁõ ¾ç±Ø¼º Àå¾Ö(a kind of depression). Mr. Cerezo quit his job as a management consultant in 2010 only to take care of her. She was aware of her family¡¯s poor financial conditions, but she urged her father to buy lottery tickets. Mr. Cerezo put them in a cookie jar that Savannah had bought as a gift to her parents. He didn¡¯t touch the tickets for three months.

Despite the devoted care of her family, Savannah died at age 14. Afterward, the family struggled in poverty and was finally ordered to leave their house last February. One day, while packing to move, Mr. Cerezo found that one of the 11 lottery tickets in the cookie jar was the first prize winner!

¡°We will pay off our mortgage and share it with our two children. We will also give some to our church and favorite charities. It is very important to us that we use this money to help others,¡± the father said. We believe that the daughter is very pleased in heaven. Rest in peace, Savannah!
