Summer is a fun season. You¡¯re almost out of school, vacation is just around the corner, and some of you may travel to exciting places soon. However, if there¡¯s one thing that many people don¡¯t like about this season, it¡¯s the heat and humidity. The summer months are very hot in Korea. Temperatures in Seoul can easily reach 30 degrees Celsius, and humidity levels typically hover around 90 percent. So how can you stay cool this summer without breaking the air conditioner? Read on and find out!

One of the best tips to stay cool is dressing lighter and wearing light-colored clothes. Avoid clothes made with denim, nylon, polyester, or Spandex.
These materials trap your body heat and cause you to sweat more. Cotton is best during the summer because it¡¯s light and air flows through it. Dark colors, such as red, black, navy, and purple, absorb heat from the sun, so wear light colors, like white, khaki, sky blue, and pink.

Did you know that children are supposed to drink five to eight glasses of water every day? In the summer, the heat dehydrates our bodies faster, so we need to drink more water. Avoid drinks with caffeine because they make you thirstier. Keep plastic bottles of water in the freezer and take them with you when you go out.

It¡¯s important to use sunblock when you go outside. But avoid heavy oils and lotions. These products prevent your body from cooling down when you sweat, so you can become overheated. You can also keep your lotion in the refrigerator so that when you apply it, it¡¯ll feel cool on your skin.

Lastly, eat a lot of ice cream and visit a water fun park! These two things will definitely help you keep cool this summer!
