Since its release on Jan. 16, Frozen, a 2013 3D Disney animated musical feature film, has become a box-office smash hit, having lured more than nine million moviegoers as of Feb. 17. Its songs have already ranked among the most popular animated-film soundtracks. Surprisingly, more than 40 percent of its fans are found to have watched the version dubbed in Korean.

Under these circumstances, voice actress Park Ji-yoon (b. 1978) has emerged as a star since providing the voice of lead character Anna, princess of Arendells and younger sister of Queen Elsa. Park has attracted a lot of attention particularly because of her singing voice for Anna¡¯s songs, ¡°Do You Want to Build a Snowman?,¡± ¡°For The First Time in Forever,¡± and ¡°Love Is An Open Door.¡±
Still in disbelief about her popularity, Park said, ¡°When my name started to appear on local portal sites, I thought it was singer Park Ji-yoon rather than myself. Since I¡¯ve only been acting behind the scenes, it feels great to receive this sudden attention.¡±

A vocal music major at Sungshin Women¡¯s University, Park started her career as a voice actress for KBS in 2005. She also provided voices for Charlotte in The Princess and the Frog (2009), Rapunzel in Tangled (2010), and Andie in The Nut Job (2014). For her role for Anna in Frozen, she had passed a voice test and a singing audition offered by Disney with flying colors.
