Bolt is the fastest man in the world. Although he has won six Olympic
gold medals, Bolt is constantly challenging himself and setting new
world records. On Dec. 15, he set another new interesting record!
This time, he raced against a bus, 20 times larger than him. He was
not afraid of the bus. He was ready to run like a ¡°bolt.¡± The bus
was packed with passengers and people waited for the contest to begin.
While the bus worked through its gears, Bolt cruised to victory on
9th of July Avenue in Argentina¡¯s capital. He crossed the finish line
ahead of the bus in a race of 80 m!
Bolt
wanted to encourage more kids to take up athletics, and he introduced
his story about how he began his career as a sprinter. ¡°The first
race I actually won was when I was 10 years old,¡± he explained. ¡°My
cricket coach bet me to run on my sports day -- if I won I would get
a box lunch, and I won. It was great.¡±
He added, ¡°One of my main goals is to go to the Rio Olympics, as I
was saying, to do it again,¡± he told reporters. He hopes to defend
the 100 m, 200 m and 4X100 m titles he won in both the 2008 and 2012
Olympics. |
