Spring Break in America    [18-04-2014]
Untitled Document
The first day of spring was in late March; this is exciting to many students in America because it means that spring break is coming up soon. So what is spring break? It is an extended break that all American schools have during the semester. Universities and most K-12 schools usually take about a week off from academics, but there are some schools that even take a longer two-week vacation. Schools have spring break so that students and faculty can have time to relax before completing the academic year. It allows them some time to put their feet up before going back to school again. Some families stay home and relax while others go on vacations with their families.

This year¡¯s spring break, however, might be a bit different for some people. As you know, many schools in the States were closed for several days in January and February because of exceptionally cold weather. To make up for the lost class time, some schools have decided to shorten spring break from a week to a couple of days. Therefore, some families might have to cut any planned vacations short. This may come as a disappointment to some, but at least they can look forward to next year since spring break comes around every year!
