What do you picture when you think of cats?

Cats are one of the most popular pets people keep in their families. Nevertheless, many say they are not the friendliest creatures: They hardly express their emotions no matter how much love they receive.

Tara, Jeremy Triantafilo’s family cat, however, recently proved people wrong. Tara chased away a dog attacking the four-year-old Jeremy. He was riding a bicycle when a neighbor’s dog suddenly appeared and viciously bit him. Tara came to his rescue at that very moment.. She ran after the dog, and the dog ran away. Jeremy is now left with a severe bite on his leg, but his parents are relieved that things did not get worse, thanks to Tara.
The moment was recorded by the Triantafilos’ security camera. Jeremy’s parents uploaded the footage on YouTube, and it caught the attention of the Internet users around the globe. The footage spread in an instant, honoring Tara with worldwide fame. Tara surely impressed people with an unforeseen loyalty.

Tara is now recognized as a hero cat. She was even invited to throw the first pitch at a local baseball game. Who says cats don’t love back?
