are many smart and amazing dogs in the world.
And Laney is one of them. She is a black Labrador, and she lives in
Indiana, U.S. Last week, Laney did a very amazing thing. She saved
three boys from a house on fire!
Last Friday morning, when her 13-year-old owner Christopher Peebles
was sleeping with two of his friends, the house caught fire. Everyone
was asleep and no one knew the
house was burning. Christopher's parents were both at work at the
time of the fire. It was Laney who sensed the smoke in the house.
To wake her owner up, Laney bit the boy's foot repeatedly! "I woke
up to feel Laney biting my foot repeatedly," Christopher said.
"I thought she had to go to the bathroom, but she never bites
me."
Christopher and his friends walked upstairs with Laney and noticed
smoke everywhere in the home. "We came up the stairs and thought
it was a dream. But it was cold when we opened the door. Then we knew
it wasn't a dream," he said. Christopher said he and Laney are
real close. "Laney has always been very protective of me." |
