Every
day, we have to wash our hands many times. Especially before eating,
your mom or dad will ask you, "Did you wash
your hands?" But why do we have to wash our hands often? Why is it so important? Read on and find out!
Think about all of the things that you touched today. You touched
many things from the basketball to the toilet. Whatever you did today, you
came into contact with germs! It's easy for a germ
on your hand to enter your mouth. And you eat lots of foods with your
hands. If you don't wash your hands before eating, the germs on your
hands will enter your mouth! It can make you sick. But don't worry. There
is an easy solution to this problem.
You can stop germs from spreading by washing your
hands!
If you wash your hands often, germs don't get a chance to make you
sick. So, when are the best times to wash your hands?

- Before eating or touching food.
- After using the bathroom.
- After blowing your nose.
- After touching pets or other animals.
- After playing outside.
- Before and after visiting a sick friend.
When you wash your hands, use warm water (not cold or hot). And you
have to wash your hands with soap. You can use whatever
soap you like. Don't forget to wash around your
nails, too. Germs like to
hide under your nails! Wash
your hands for about 10 to 15 seconds. Then, rinse and dry well with a clean towel. Now, your hands are
germ-free and happy! |
