China Goes into Battle Against Rat Plague    [09-02-2008]
These days China is suffering from pesky rodents. For much of this year, grazing land in parts of Xinjiang province have been overwhelmed by growing numbers of rats and other rodents gobbling up grass and forcing out sheep.

Up to now
, rat control around the grasslands has depended on scattering poison, and authorities used airplanes to do the job around hard-hit areas this year.

However, authorities in far western China have come up with a new plan to fight against them. Wonder what it is?

Well, you may think they have invented some kind of state-of-the-art equipment. But WRONG! They have found a cheaper and environmentally-friendly way -- they are planning to use eagles and foxes!
