A fossil is a bone, a shell or the shape of a plant or animal which has been preserved in rock for a very long time. In other words, fossils are the imprints of plants or animals of a past age. Fossils take millions of years to form. But you can make your own fossils in just one or two days! It will be fun to have your own fossils.
Also, you can learn how real fossils were formed. This week, let¡¯s learn how to make fossils at home! Don¡¯t worry. It¡¯s not difficult to make!

Things you need:
1. Water
2. Soil
3. Cookie sheet
4. Wax paper
5. Containers to mix soil and water
6. Spoon or stick for stirring
7. Fossil items like leaves, or sea shells, pieces of wood, or nuts in their shells.

Directions:
1. Fill a container halfway with soil. (Do not use potting soil. It will
