 If
you visit the city of Nagareyama in Japan, you can meet a very special parrot. His name is Yosuke
Nakamura. He is an African grey parrot. Recently, Yosuke flew out
of his cage and got lost. Oh, poor
Yosuke…
Luckily, police rescued him from a neighbor’s roof. They took Yosuke to
the police station. But they
couldn’t find out who Yosuke’s owner was. So they took him
to a nearby animal hospital.
Surprisingly, Yosuke told
the animal doctor his name and
address! “I’m Mr. Yosuke
Nakamura,” the bird told the animal doctor. The parrot also told him
his full home address. “We checked the address, and found out the
Nakamura family really lived there! So we told them we’ve found Yosuke,”
local policeman Shinjiro
Uemura said.
The Nakamura family was very happy to see Yosuke again. They had been
teaching the bird its name and address for about two years. And the
smart parrot did exactly what his family told
him to do -- recite his name and address
to a stranger willing to help! |
