Untitled Document
There are many amazing teenagers in the world. And the boy in this picture is one of them. Say hello to Zac Sunderland. He is 16 years old and he is from LA. So, why is he amazing? He is hoping to become the youngest person to sail around the world alone!
The current record belongs to David Dicks from Australia. He left Australia when he was 17 in 1996, and returned nine months later when he was 18 years and 41 days old. Zac needs to get back by January, 2010 to break the record.

Zac set off on May 31 and is still traveling in his 11-meter boat, which he bought with his own savings! This amazing young boy will sail about 64,400 kilometers all alone. ¡°It¡¯s going to be an amazing adventure. I want to check out all the different places around the world,¡± said Zac.
But wait a minute. What about his study? He is a good student and he will put time aside each day to study. ¡°I have all my books with me. My mom will call me every afternoon and ask, ¡®What page are you on?¡¯ And I have to send back my tests via e-mail to her. She is going to grade them and make sure I am doing well,¡± he said.
Also, Zac will write a book while he is on his journey. I can¡¯t wait to read his book! Bon voyage, Zac!
