A good friend is someone who shares your joys and sadness. He or she is someone who is there for you whenever you need them. A real friend is someone very special. A real friend makes your life much happier. A true friend is one of the nicest things you can have, and one of the best things you can be.There are big ships and small ships in the world. But the best ship of all is friendship!

Having a true friend is great. You can share your thoughts, feelings, fun times, problems, successes and even failures with someone who knows and understands you. A real friend is the person who knows all about you, and still likes you. A true friend also cares about you. A real friend will not desert you when you are down. Also, a real friend will not turn against you in jealousy when you succeed.

For two people to become true friends, you have to really know and understand each other well. It takes a long time to build a true friendship, not just a few days. Friendship is like planting a seed that you have found. It takes a long time to grow an old friend. But it¡¯s worth it!
So, how can you build and maintain a strong, healthy friendship with your true friend?

1. First of all, you have to be honest. True friends are sincere to each other.

2. Accept him or her as they are.

3. Try to be a good listener. Listening to your friend tells him or her that you are really interested in what they are saying.

4. Be a positive person and talk about the good things in your life. No one likes people who talk about their problems all the time!

5. Help your friend when he or she is in need. A friend in need is a friend indeed! In times of despair, true friends offer hope.
