There are 8 species of bear in the world:
Sun Bear, Panda Bear, Black Bear, Brown Bear, Spectacled Bear, Asiatic Black Bear, Polar Bear, and Grizzly Bear.
- The brown bear is the world¡¯s largest meat-eating animal that lives
on land. It can weigh as much as 770 kilograms.
- The sun bear is the smallest bear. It weighs about 45 kilograms.
Sun bears live in the tropical rainforests of Southeast
Asia.
- Baby bears are called ¡°cubs.¡±
- Bears have big, heavy bodies, but they can move very fast.
- The grizzly bear can run as fast as the horse.
- Bears have a very good sense of smell.
- Black bears are very good swimmers and tree climbers.
- Black bears can go without food for up to 7 months during winter sleep.
- Polar
bears look very cute. But they are more aggressive than other bears.
- All polar bears are left-handed.

- Polar bear babies weigh only about 450 grams when they are born.
- The front feet of polar bears
are webbed.
- Unlike other bears, panda bears do not sleep during the winter.

than a mouse and weighs about 110 grams.
- Koalas are often called bears and they look like they belong to the bear family.
