- There are about 300 kinds of squirrels in the world.

4 toes on their front. They use their sharp front toes to climb trees.

first 6 to 8 weeks of life.
- Squirrels are fast runners. They can run at speeds up to 32 kilometers per hour.
- Squirrels can eat almost anything. They eat nuts, acorns, fruits, corn and
seeds. Sometimes they also eat bird¡¯s
eggs and insects.
- Squirrels are most active in late winter.
- Squirrels¡¯ teeth grow continuously. They chew on tree branches to sharpen and clean their teeth.

- When squirrels feel danger, they stand still.
- Squirrels can fall up to 30 meters without hurting themselves. They
use their tail for balance.
- Grey squirrels build nests in many unusual places
such as in cars, chimneys, and even in barbecue
