are places where people go to eat, right? But recently, about 60 sea turtles showed up at
an Italian restaurant in Calabria, southern Italy. So, why did the
turtles march into the restaurant?
Did they want to have pasta or pizza?
Well, the truth is, the newly hatched sea turtles lost
their way during their ritual passage to the sea. They
ended up marching into the beachside restaurant instead. According to a conservation worker Antonio
Colucci, the baby turtles were probably thrown off track
and lured by the restaurant’s bright lights.
“They saw the artificial lights and took
the wrong route,” said Colucci, who
works on a turtle monitoring project for the
conservation group WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature)세계야생동물기금협회.
So, what happened to the confused little turtles?
Don’t worry. They were released into the sea safely. Don’t get lost again and stay healthy, baby turtles! |
