 Last Tuesday, two very special people met in London.
Who are they and what’s so special about them? Just take a look at the picture!
The woman has the longest legs in the world
and the man has the shortest legs in the
world!
The woman’s name is Svetlana Pankratova and she is 36 years old.
She is Russian but now she lives in Spain. She is about 190 centimeters
tall and her legs are 132 centimeters long! But she is not the tallest woman in the
world. According to the Guinness World Records, an
American woman named Sandy Allen held the
title of the tallest woman on record at 227.5 centimeters.
But she died recently.
Guiness also states that the man in the picture is the shortest man
who can walk. His name is Pingping and he is 20 years old. He is
from China. He was born with a type of dwarfism. The world’s shortest
man is only about 68 centimeters tall!
Svetlana and Pingping met to publicize the release of “Guinness World
Records 2009.” This year’s version of the popular book was released
on September 17. The Guinness Book of World Records has been around for 50 years, and
about 3.5 million copies are sold each year. |
