 There’s
no place like home. Home is a place where we can rest. So everyone goes home
after a long day at school or work. But don’t you think it would be
cool if a house could come
to us? If you have a walking house, you will be able to take a rest whenever and wherever you want, right?
Surprisingly, there really
is a walking house! Recently, house designers
in Denmark built a house that can walk. American engineers worked
with them to make the amazing house. The 3-meter-high
walking house has 6 legs and can stroll at walking pace.
The world’s first walking house is solar and wind powered. It can walk thanks to a mainframe computer which
controls the legs. Like normal homes, the house has
a living room, kitchen, toilet, bed and wood stove.
The Danish designers said this house will provide a solution to beating the floods. This is because it
can simply walk away from floods! The house could also be a solution
to land use in the near future. The walking house costs ￡30,000 to
build. So it can be a great alternative for people on
a low income. |
