Many people in the world love watching ballet. Dancing ballerinas are very beautiful. They look like angels! But in England, there is a very special ballerina. He is a 4-year-old boy. His name is Harvey Phillips. Do you want to know why he is special? He is a ballerina with no legs! Let¡¯s go to England to meet the special young boy.

Harvey Phillips was born healthy 4 years ago. But in June, 2005 when he was only 9 months old, Harvey caught a disease called meningitis³ú¸·¿°. He lost both his legs and right arm after suffering from the disease. His mother Lisa Phillips felt very sad. She thought her baby won¡¯t be able to run around with friends or enjoy music and dance.

However, when Harvey became 4 years old, he started dancing! When he saw his older sister Kayla dancing at her ballet class last November, he decided to learn ballet, too. Do you think the boy can really do ballet? Oh, yes! It¡¯s hard to believe, but he is a great ballet dancer. He can run, jump, and even twirl!

¡°Harvey looks very happy while doing ballet,¡± said his mother Lisa. ¡°He wants to try everything. He is very active and totally comfortable in his own body. I¡¯m so proud of him. I¡¯m sure he will overcome many difficulties in his life. If he can¡¯t do things the way his friends do them, he will find his own way of doing things.¡± According to Lisa, the name ¡°Harvey¡± means ¡°battleworthy.¡± She said, ¡°The name perfectly suits him.¡±

Now, Harvey dances once a week with able-bodied children. Harvey¡¯s dance teacher, Nicky Wright, said Harvey is coping well with her lessons. ¡°I was a little worried when he first started learning ballet. I knew it would be a challenge for him. But he is coping nicely,¡± said Nicky. ¡°He always smiles. So he must be ok with everything.¡±

Recently, the young boy entered a school. Guess what! He is doing great there! He is especially good at handwriting. Isn¡¯t he amazing?
