of the most famous actresses in Hollywood, Angelina
Jolie, was recently named as the most influential person
in the world. On June 3, the American business magazine Forbes released its “2009 Celebrity
100” list. According to the list, Jolie
is the world’s most influential person. “Angelina Jolie is the most
famous star in the world. She has a lot of positive influence on people’s
lives,” said the magazine.
Angelina Jolie was born on June 4, 1975 in Los Angeles, California.
Her father, Jon Voight, was an actor. Jolie started acting when she
was only 7 years old. In 1982, she made her screen debut with her father
in the movie Lookin’ to Get Out. In 1995, she starred in a movie for the first time in Hackers.
Her acting was very wonderful and she became
very famous. Since then, she took leading roles in so many
famous movies.
 In 1999,
she won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress
for her acting in the movie Girl, Interrupted. Jolie became even more
famous after playing a video game heroine Lara Croft in Lara Croft:
Tomb Raider in 2001. Since then, she became one of the highest-paid actresses in
Hollywood. Her action-comedy Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005) was a huge success, too. Last year,
she did voice acting in the animated
film Kung Fu Panda.
Many people in the world love her very much. She is a great actress.
To date, she has received so many awards for her great acting.
However, she is not just a pretty actress. Other than acting, she loves
helping other people, too. She especially loves children.
 Now
she is also working as UN Goodwill Ambassador. She
often visits poor countries in the world and help needy children.
She even adopted three children from
Cambodia, Vietnam and Ethiopia. She is a beautiful actress with a
beautiful heart! In fact, she is known as
one of the world’s most beautiful women.
In 2009 Forbes’ 100 Influential People list, talk show queen Oprah Winfrey
ranked 2nd. She was at the
top for two years straight in 2007 and 2008.
Pop singer Madonna was 3rd and Beyonce Knowles held the fourth spot. Golfer Tiger Woods
was 5th, U.S. President Barack Obama placed 49th and Harry Potter
star Daniel Radcliffe ranked 70th. |
